Brian Robinson is hosting a bike maintenance clinic. See all the details below:
A number of people have expressed an interest in learning how to do some basic maintenance on their bicycles. I will be hosting a clinic for EarthRiders members on Sunday August 6th, 6pm at the Loose Park pavillion. We should be have enough room there. We will cover some basic drivetrain operation and maintenance. If you are not a member and would like to attend, I ask that you make a small donation to the club.

When: Saturday, June 24th, 2pm - 5pm
Where: Shawnee Mission Park - Shelter #6 *
What to bring: Bikes, helmets (required), lawn chairs
Quick, find a family and latch onto them for Family Day on Saturday, June 24th! Earthriders is hosting our annual event where the entire family is invited to come out and participate in some serious mountain biking fun. The goal is to grow the sport by introducing kids, significant others, neighbors and friends to mountain biking. The activities will be geared towards new or unfamiliar riders. There will be food, games (on bikes, of course) and a big ole family group ride. Oh, and prizes. Who doesn’t like prizes? Nobody, that’s who!
In the event that you are unable to obtain a family before June 24th, please come on out anyway. Bikes and grilled hotdogs in the park are for everyone except vegetarians, and they are welcome to bring their own artichoke hummus dip and seaweed rolls.
* Shelter #6 is the second shelter from the dam at the lake. Look for the Earthriders banner or just a whole bunch of bikes.

Thank you to all attendees of this year’s Mountain Bike 101 for making it a great success! There were 54 people who showed up and got to ride their bikes while learning new techniques from some very skilled instructors. Hopefully everyone in attendance learned something new and will be able to apply the skills on the trail to make for more enjoyable rides!
Thanks to Sean Cairns, Travis Stevens, Max Mason and Todd Posson for teaching the individual courses and demonstrations, and to Joe Folse for assisting with the planning and coordination of the event.
Several of you who attended are now new Earthriders members. Welcome, and we hope to see you soon at one of the group rides!
