Granny Gear Productions, (did we mention they are the ones who are bringing the 24 hours of Landahl Race to Kansas City?), wants to show its appreciation by lending assistance to the trails they will be using for the race. Granny Gear employees, along with other volunteers, will be doing some regular maintenance and construction to further improve the great Landahl Trail System. We could use a really big turnout so please come show your gratitude and help out on the trails!

GG will be offering a swag raffle to participants of the workday. 24 Hr Landahl t-shirt coupons will be given out to all volunteers and shirts can be picked up the weekend of the race at Landahl.

What to bring - Trail building tools: Pulaski, McCleod, shovel, loppers, pruners, etc. We will have extras so don't worry if you don't have any. Wear comfortable clothes for working in the woods. Long pants, gloves, eye
protection, etc. Bring water and any food you think you may need. Bug spray and Poison Ivy
protection are also recomended if you are susceptible.

There will be a party/get together for all volunteers on Saturday evening. More details will be provided Saturday at the work day. You gotta Pay to Play.

Meeting/Group ride -

The September Earthriders meeting will be Sunday, September 10th from 2-6pm, at the Argo road shelter. This month our meeting will be sponsored by the nice folks at the Bike Stop in Blue Springs and Independence. The meeting is open to anyone who would like to come on out and check out the club. The Bike Stop will be donating some very nice merchandise for raffle with 100% of the proceeds going to fund EarthRiders Trails Association. This is a great chance to support local trail building activities. We will be selling meal/raffle tickets for $5 each, with additional raffle tickets available for $5.

The group rides will depart from the Argo Trailhead shelter starting at 2pm, followed by the official ER meeting and raffle at 4:30. The following weekend is the big race so the actual race course should be marked and ridable by the day of the meeting. This will be a great opportunity to pre-ride the course before the big event whether you are racing in the 24 race or if you just want to be impressed when you see how many laps the pros can do in 24 hours.

Don't forget: helmets are required for all riders at this and all EarthRiders events.
