From Michael Gier:
Big Announcement: It's BACK and it's NEW.
EarthRiders is proud to announce the return of a long-missing member benefit, the EARTHRIDERS BIKE SHIPPING CASE RENTAL. And by "rental," of course I mean, "FREE with current membership." Thanks to the assistance and generosity of BIKESOURCE (913 451-1515) and EPIC BIKE & SPORT (816 382-3100), current EarthRiders members now have access to one of two bicycle shipping cases for use when you want to get outta Dodge.
Here's the deal:
First, you contact our secretary, Damon Turner, at damonturner@earthriders.com and reserve a case. He'll direct you to either Epic Bike or BikeSource to pick up the case.
There, you will need to present your current membership card (missing your card? Contact our membership guy, Garrett Wood) and hand over a deposit check for $300 (replacement value of the case).
Then you take the case and see the world. Your check will be held uncashed and will be returned to you when you return the case in good condition and within the expected time. It's as simple as that.
The fine print: You absolutely must be a current member with a current membership card to take a case. We make no guarantees of fitness for shipping -- that's between you and your carrier. The cases are made by Serfas and have already been to an ocean and back, and did quite well. We make no guarantees of availability -- reservation is NOT a guarantee. Things happen beyond our control. If you need to be SURE, you need to buy your own case. Visit one of these fine shops to do so. Normal shipping wear and stickering is expected, but damage to the case that requires repair will be at your expense. Damage caused by your shipping carrier (or others) is between you and your carrier. If the case is damaged, we will cash the deposit check and use it to replace/repair the case, with any remainder returned. We highly recommend purchasing shipping insurance, and including the value of the case in the value of the shipment. While the case is checked out in your name, it is your responsibility. You must return the case to the shop to be relieved of that responsibility. Additional rules regarding case checkout may apply, and will be made available here and on our website. Have a great trip.
I am really happy to be able to offer this service to our members again. Is there something else we should be doing for you? Tell me about it.
