description: This looks to be a very promising trail. It is situated along the shoreline of Pomona Lake. This is an old lake with mature groves of native Kansas trees and vegitation. The trail is mostly loose dirt and rock. It is shared as a horse trail. In July, the trail is very overgrown with brush and weeds. Be prepared to ride through huge patches of poison ivy. Also, Black Hawk shares a feature with most other Kansas lake trails: insects. Along much of the trail, you will encounter spiderwebs about every 10 or 20 feet. (I feel like a giant cocoon when I finish.) The trail is not overly technical. But, it does have a few tough climbs and descents. I have read that the trail is approximately 20 miles long, with creek crossings and some open prairie.
highlights: For the nature lovers out there, this is a very beautiful trail. 110 Mile Park has a wide variety of native Kansas trees. This park is out of the way, so the trail has very little traffic. You may be the only one riding it on a given day!

additional thoughts: I plan to give this trail another try this Fall, after the first frost. It should be an excellent ride in the Fall, Winter, and early Spring; when the weeds and insects are thinned out. I recommend a riding buddy on this trail. Just in case of an emergency. The park is rather isolated.
